Sarah Hathway is the Socialist Alliance candidate for the State Division of Lara in the upcoming Victorian State Elections on November 26. Sarah lives in Norlane with her partner and four year-old. She is a union organiser in the health sector, final year social work student and community activist with a particular focus on environmental campaigns.
Socialist Alliance stands for a democratic society run by and for working people, not the billionaires who are getting away with not paying taxes. We have the biggest housing crisis since the 1930s. The market has failed to provide housing for everyone. Profits continue to soar while wages stagnate. Our health system is overloaded from Triple 000 call centres to hospital wards and outpatient services. This profits-first system is incapable of solving the climate crisis. We need community campaigns that are based on social justice and solidarity in order to break the power of greedy billionaires and distribute wealth more equitably to save the planet.
Best of luck on Saturday
