The average person can be expected to be confronted by 6 or 7 extremely traumatic incidents over the course of their entire life.
For a police officer, they experience 6 or more of these traumatic incidents every week of their policing career.
I served 10 years in the NSW police force and witnessed first hand the effect that PTSD has on both current and former members as well as myself.
I plan on taking on the 1K in a day motorcycle riding challenge, which equates to riding 1,600km within a 24 hour period, which will take place on Wednesday the 27th of July 2022.
I will be attempting the challenge on my Harley Davidson Road Glide ST and will be completing a round trip from Sydney to Byron Bay.
My aim is to help raise awareness for the invisible condition which effects way too many already. For me riding is my ultimate escape from my "Head noises" and helps me greatly reduce the symptoms of PTSD.
100% of the proceeds raised will be going to the BLUE HOPE support services that provides support to current and former police officers from all around Australia.
