My name is Ben Price and many of you may know me as the local Tiler. I have lived here in Bridgetown with my family for the past 17 years, it’s a beautiful part of the south West we have loved to call home. We have enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, collecting firewood, bush walks, beach walks and just being outdoors in nature. However in recent times my life and livelihood has taken a turn for the worse. In January this year I had my 1st Moderna covid-19 vaccination that has left me with a vaccine injury. Doctors and specialist have confirmed this is from the vaccine and are yet unsure how to treat me. I have been waiting almost 2 months for a formal diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis. The Neurological team at Fiona Stanley have said that I have a neurological injury that has been caused by the myelin that protects the brain, nerves and spinal cord is being eaten away by what they think is my immune response towards the 1st Covid vaccination i received on the 28th January this year. The doctors initially said I could have Multiple Sclerosis onset but are now perplexed if that could actually be the diagnosis as I have many symptoms and physical incapabilities that do not match a MS diagnosis. So again I wait for a for more scans, more blood culture’s and a specialist appointment with a neurologist team at Fiona Stanley. Our lives have been turned upside down almost instantly, I can no longer work and provide for my family, I cant drive a car or do simple tasks that we all take for granted. Our family is unsure what the future is going to hold and if I will ever recover fully. My condition has put extra strain on my family and I feel guilt and sadness as I need care from my wife and kids when I was once the provider for my family. I am sad, angry, hurt and ashamed that we all put our trust in the medical professionals and unfortunately vaccine injuries like mine do happen. Unfortunately, we are not getting the understanding, help and care I need. It is taking a long time to go through the system and in this time we are going through financial strain. Coming down to one income, trips to Perth for medical appointments, costs of MRIs/ scans and disability/mobility equipment are all costs that we are facing due to my injury. Thank you for your prayers and charity.
I'm sorry to hear what has happened to you. This is one of the reasons we will continue to stand up against this being mandated.
Praying for you and your fam.
