This cause is for my son Antoni he is only 12 weeks old and he has spent the last 32 days in ICU in Randwick Childrens Hospital. He has been diagnosed with immune deficiency and no Thymus Gland. He has a very rare condition and the operation he needs is only done by 2 specialist surgeons in the world. We have to get him to England or America. It's a costly and difficult time for our family and we are in need of support. So.. Hello my name is Miroslaw and together with my wife Ladawan we are trying to raise money for Antoni our beautiful baby boy that needs a Thymus Gland transplant to get his immune system working. He was born without this gland that not many of us even know about. This Thymus gland controls, trains and manages the T-white blood cells that help fight and protect his immune system, without a working Thymus gland his T-white blood cells circulate the body and die off, leaving him vulnerable to infections, viruses and bacteria. So our baby can have a normal life growing up this is the ONLY answer to his condition. This condition is rare and unfortunately this transplant operation is not possible in Australia. There are 2 places in the world that do this very rare procedure and London is one of them and another in America.
The immunologists at Sydney Childrens Hospital are making plans with the specialist surgeons at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children to make sure that his condition fits the criteria. This fund-raiser will help us get Antoni to London to get his immune system working properly and keeping him safe. At this present time Antoni has also been diagnosed with having no Parathyroid gland as well, which controls and maintains his Calcium levels. On top of these two glands missing he has CMV virus that has been in his body for some time and the doctors are trying to get this virus under control.
Time is of an essence for this young boy without an immune system, his body will come across more new infections, viruses and potentially covid 19 which will weaken his tiny body even more.
We miss our baby boy at home we miss holding him and hugging him, it has been a very difficult time, with a long road ahead before we can eventually start to see positive results. Our family and friends are helping to keep us in high positive spirits, but its very challenging at times. Our little boy needs your help and we appreciate any support that we & he receive.
