My name is Paul, from Papua New Guinea. My wife is Nganchu (Nancy) Phom, from India, Nagaland. Nimbine Lemshong is our only daughter. We live and serve in Chiang Mai province of Thailand as fulltime volunteer missionaries involving in teaching Bible literacy under The Bible League Thailand in the last four years.
In October 19 2021, Nancy had a brain hemorrhage and has undergone two brain surgeries and she is required to go for a third brain surgery. I created this donation page to raise financial supports to pay for Nancy's ongoing medical bills. We are entirely depending on donations to cover for Nancy's medical costs. Weekly/monthly report of Nancy's health progress and donations updates are made here, https://faithjourney.papuaniugini.org/pray-for-nancys-healing-restoration-and-recovery-of-her-health/
HELP NANCY TO GO FOR 3RD BRAIN SURGERY (CRANIOPLASTY)
Currently, Nancy’s progressing slowly. We are arranging Nancy to undergo final brain surgery (cranioplasty) to replace her skull bone, which was removed during the first two surgeries. I am expecting to pay THB60,000.00 to THB100,000.00 for cranioplasty. Kind donations can be made through this link https://www.mycause.com.au/page/271687/young-missionary-family-in-need-of-financial-support-for-medical-bills
I am paying THB30,000.00+ monthly from donations received to keep her at nursing home for her recovery. Your kind donations and assistance is highly appreciated.
WHAT HAPPENNED TO NANCY?
On Tuesday, 19th October 2021, at around 12:30 PM. We were having lunch in the kitchen. While eating, Nancy held her head and walked out of the kitchen leaving Nimbine and me in the kitchen without telling us what was going on with her.
After a minute or two I heard a strange sound coming from the living room, while I was feeding Nimbine. I left at once to find out what was happening and shockingly to find Nancy vomiting allover herself lying on the sofa unconscious.
I called Berea Bible Institute staff immediately for help and we rushed Nancy to a nearby Hospital. At the emergency room nurses and doctors quickly checked and after assessing Nancy, Doctor reported that right side of her body is not responding.
Doctor concluded that Nancy had a problem within her brain. Doctor then referred Nancy to Nakornping hospital in Chiang Mai, where Nancy underwent scanning of her brain.
After the scan, Doctor reported that there is bleeding inside Nancy’s brain. He suggested that the only option left for her survival is to do brain surgery to clean the blood inside.
I signed necessary documents for Nancy's brain surgery. Surgery took two hours and it took neurosurgeon two days to completely drain out all the blood inside Nancy's brain.
On Thursday, 4th November 2021, Nancy had high fever and her body unable to respond. She was referred again to scan her brain. The scan revealed that Nancy's wound inside her brain bleeds. So Nancy underwent second brain surgery.
Right now, Nancy is going through rehabilitation at a nursing home in Chiang Mai.
FINANCIAL NEEDS
We are entirely depending on donations from kind hearted people and Christians and charity organisations to pay for ongoing bills as Nancy continues to receive treatments from the hospital and nursing home.
We are tentmaking or self-supporting volunteer missionaries. We don't have health insurances and Nancy is required to pay the full hospital bills from our own purse. Since we are volunteers, we are unable to get privileges in Thai public hospitals.
In the last four months of her brain surgeries, Nancy's total medical bills are as follows and keep increasing monthly.
Doi Saket District hospital: THB11,000.00 for emergency treatments and two nights at ICU. Nakornphing hospital: THB250,122.00 for CAT scan, brain surgeries, drugs and at Neurosurgical ICU and ward for 21 days.
Sanpathong hospital: THB5,600.00 for CAT scan
McCORMIC hospital: THB500,237.00 for admission and treatment at the ward for one month.
Currently, at nursing home I am paying THB30,000.00 monthly and is ongoing.
Nancy's final brain surgery (cranioplasty) will approximately cost THB60,000 - THB100,000. Therefore, we raise funds for Nancy to meet all these expenses.
Your kind donation and prayers support towards this cause will be our life-long testimony to glorify the name of the Lord we are believing and serving.
