19-year-old Gerry will be shaving his beloved mullet to raise fund to support Rise Above and their mission to make the cancer fight a little bit easier for cancer patients in the Canberra/Queanbeyan community.
At Rise Above’s annual Quiz Night in March, if Gerry hits his goal of $5000, the mullet WILL COME OFF!
Of course, Gerry’s Mum was the first to donate and can’t wait to see her son mullet free.
Gerry has chosen to support Rise Above as he believes their work in the community is so important – cancer isn’t just physically and mentally exhausting, IT’S FINANCIALL EXHAUSTING.
Rise Above provides practice financial assistance to cancer patients and their families, covering patients of all ages and all cancer types. They do this by assisting with the insurmountable cost that come with a cancer diagnosis. The assistance is given by covering the cost of the following:
- Cancer related medications - Chemotherapy - Gas/electricity assistance - Weekly $100 food/fuel vouchers - Fertility preservation costs - Ordering, payment, and delivery of hospital prescribed dietary supplements
Please get behind Gerry and his mission to support cancer patient in our community!
Rise Above - Capital Region Cancer Relief previously known as ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group has assisted over 2600 cancer patients in the Canberra, Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Braidwood region with over $3.3 million dollars of direct financial assistance.
