PLEASE SUPPORT THE CAUSE!
Thank you for visiting the South Australian State Emergency Service (SES) fundraising page for the 2021 SmartBar Walk for a Veteran with PTSD.
This year a group of SES Swiftwater Rescue Technicians will be trekking 40km in full operational kit (wetsuit, PFD and equipment) through the Mount Crawford Forest Reserve. This event seeks to raise awareness of Veteran and emergency services volunteer and staff mental health issues and raise funds for charities and programs to overcome these challenges.
Maintaining positive mental health is essential for volunteers and staff who work in the emergency services. Attending traumatic incidents, rescuing people in adverse conditions and the very nature of volunteering (balancing volunteering, work, family, study and other priorities) can be a challenge and needs to be managed effectively.
Mental health challenges could affect anyone, at any time, and we want increase awareness and reduce the stigma so those who need support, can seek support without hesitation or fear.
Please sponsor us if you can or get in touch during the walk as we trek 40km through the Mount Crawford Forest Reserve. This endeavour will support a range of Veteran and Emergency Services health charities and programs, including:
- Trojans Trek
- Hearts 4 Heroes
- Australian Professional Firefighters Foundation
- CFS Foundation
Thank you for your support and raising awareness of Veteran and emergency services mental health.
Great work Trav and team!
