About
Sammy Holst is a legendary cox in the New South Wales Rowing Community, having started coxing in the late 1970's at Macquarie University through more than 20 years with Sydney University Women's Rowing Club (now SUBC) and most recently at Glebe Rowing Club. Sammy passed away suddenly late November 2020 - gone too young! Sammy would jump in and cox almost any crew who asked for his services, and many crews got more than they bargained for! Sammy will remain a legend with a perpetual trophy for NSW coxswain.
Rowing NSW (otherwise GRC) will manage the awarding of the perpetual trophy annually to the best coxswain (critiera to be determined), with the recipient keeping a miniature.
