The City of Casey is one of Australia’s fastest growing regions, and with that the number of families experiencing poverty also grows. Latest research has found that approximately 44,500 people experience poverty within the City of Casey (2018). The City of Casey holds families from all walks of life, including those from over 150 different ethnicities. COOK4CALD hopes to feed families of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, specifically through the holiday period. Summer in Australia is generally a time of socialising with friends and family, plenty of eating, celebrating and giving. Thus, why it’s a perfect time to get our community together and help those families who need a nice home cooked meal every Sunday through summer. COOK4CALD is a not for profit organisation, funded by community donations.
Funds donated go directly towards - Renting a community kitchen - Ingredients for meals - Basic materials - Sustainable packaging - Cool bags for transportation
If you could spare some funds for this community program, we could change the way migrant families; international students; refugee status families, (and everything in between), spend their holiday season.
Congratulations Ashvina , well done and keep it up. We are happy to support and be part of this worthy cause .!
