As a candidate running for Wyndham City Council, Harrison Ward, the rules of election campaigning allow me to raise $4,160 in donations.
Right at the start of the election preparations, I decided that I would not accept any donations from anyone, paying for the election campaign out of my own pocket. This keeps my political position transparent, clean and simple.
With October being Mental Health Awareness Month, an issue that is important to me, I have decided to use my donation rights to raise money for the Werribee Hospital instead.
The rules are simple. If you support the WHF, put in a small donation. Your details will remain public so that I retain full transparency of my actions. Do not provide more than $1k in total please, as this level triggers additional paperwork to VEC.
Now here's the fun catch!
As a candidate for Wyndham, Harrison ward, I pledge that if this fundraiser raises $4,160 I will personally contribute to the fundraiser dollar for dollar.
That means that if we can raise $4,160 Werribee Hospital will be the benefactor of $8,320.
Good luck Madam.
