Hi My name is Aaron Tawera.
Over the last few months I have been reaching out to my social media for people to step forward and talk about mental health and suicide awareness during these dark times of Covid-19.
It was something I decided to do and get out of my comfort zone an speak out my own issues that me and my family dealt with over Easter long Weekend 2020.
On Easter Friday while I completed my 14 day quarantine at home in Christchurch NZ, I received a call from my Father that my Nephew left this earth for the Heavens. Such a devastating call to receive during these tough times.
While myself and my parents were in Full Alert Level 4 Lock-down in NZ. Neither of us could fly to Australia to be with my sister. Especially for my parents who just wanted to be there for their daughter. So many where effected by the loss.
What I want to do is raise as much money as I can for these 3 great foundations (Beyond Blue, Black dog Institute & RUOK) that are there to help everyone in need who are in a dark place and need guidance to see the light again before it's too late.
Every little bit counts as long as we step forward together an try make a difference.

Black Dog Institute
The Black Dog Institute is an educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in mental illness - that includes depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

R U OK? is a not-for-profit organisation founded by Gavin Larkin in 2009, whose vision is a world where we’re all connected and are protected from suicide. Accordingly, our mission is to encourage and equip everyone to regularly and meaningfully ask “are you ok?”
