The Cathedral Concert is a treasured event on the BGGS calendar and is a wonderful showcase of the School’s senior music ensembles. In addition to the sublime music curated for the acoustics of the unique venue, the Music Support Group have maintained a long standing-tradition of donating the proceeds from this concert to the Wesley Palliative Care Unit.
Despite the challenges of our remote learning environment over the past weeks, the Instrumental Music Department is pleased to present this year’s Cathedral Concert as a virtual online concert on Friday 15 May at 6 pm. This virtual concert, 'Reflections', will feature an hour of music comprising past performances as well as some special, new virtual performances that reflect the unique environment we have been working in recently. In particular, the Chamber Strings have created a stunning collaborative project with Queensland Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster, Mr Warwick Adeney—a virtual performance of Vivaldi’s Concerto for 2 Violins and Cello in D minor Op. 3/11 RV 565.
In the tradition of supporting the important work of the Wesley Palliative Care Unit, the Music Support Group have established this online donation platform. Please join us in this special celebration of music and consider supporting the Wesley Palliative Care Unit.
