Reaching out to help Mothers & Babies in remote Tanzania by purchasing of a Portable Ultrasound Scanner.
Limited access to clean drinking water and health care impacts communities across Tanzania.
Water for Africa runs a program called Mercyhands which takes volunteer medical professionals to Tanzania to help provide access to clean drinking water and treat patients in remote rural communities and medical facilities.
This portable ultrasound scanner will enable us to provide a point-of-care (on the spot) pregnancy ultrasound scans assisting in improving health outcomes for mother and child with the goal of reducing pregnancy and health complications.
Research has shown that midwives supported with point-of-care ultrasound can significantly improve health outcomes for mother and child throughout pregnancy in remote rural African developing nations.
The ultrasound system has a probe which connects to a tablet or smartphone and provides high quality images of mother and child. The system is serviced in Africa and has a 5 year replacement warranty for the probe.
Midwives can be provided with vital pregnancy information such as gestational age, multiple gestations, placental position, foetal position and more.
The equipment cost has reduced significantly thanks to recent technological advances. Our target goal will provide the scanner and screen tablet.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia.
Thank you for partnering with us to make a difference for many Mothers & Babies in remote tanzania!
Such a wonderful initiative! All the best ?
