Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page for QV1 Descent 2020!
Gilbert's Potoroo is Australia's rarest mammal & the world's rarest marsupial. There are only about 100 left & it is Critically Endangered. While thankfully it was not affected by last summer's bushfires, in 2015 over 90% of its natural habitat at Two Peoples Bay, WA, was destroyed in a catastrophic fire, leaving only 5 survivors. The species was not lost because "safe haven" populations had already been created on Bald Island & in a fenced enclosure at Waychinicup National Park, but both areas are highly fire prone so another fire could easily send the species even closer to extinction.
Gilbert's Potoroo Action Group have been working hard since March 2002 to try to raise awareness about the plight of the Potoroo & to help with its recovery through fundraising & volunteering.
Please help us help save this gorgeous animal by sponsoring our superhero team members when they jump off the rooftop of the QV1 building by selecting the donate button above. You can also leave a message of support to encourage them to take the plunge. Funds raised will be used to support Recovery Plan actions.
Thank you for helping us in our efforts to raise money to save Gilbert's Potoroo!
Good luck everyone!
