Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page!
My name is Georgia Anderson, I am a mental health advocate and suicide survivor.
This April I will be abseiling 160m off the QV1 building in Perth city to raise funds for Lifeline.
Suicide prevention is a cause that is very close to my heart.
I don’t really have the words to describe how deeply painful it is to feel suicidal or how devastating it is to lose a loved one, but the statistics speak loud.
In Australia, Suicide is the leading cause of death among people aged 15-44 and the second leading cause of death for those aged between 45-54 (ABS, December 2019)
3046 people died by suicide in Australia in 2018 (ABS)
That’s approximately 8 people per day.
Suicide accounted for approximately 105,730 years of potential life lost in 2018. (ABS)
For every death by suicide, it is estimated that as many as 30 people attempt to end their lives.
My beautiful friend Ava Durward passed away earlier this year to suicide and I feel this is one way to honour her and give to a charity that provides support to people in their darkest times.
One conversation can save a persons life.
Thank you for supporting my effort in raising money for such a vital cause!
Woof!
