About

In August 2018, Little Molly the French Bulldog underwent her first surgery to remove aggressive reoccurring mast cell tumours all throughout her body. Only a few weeks later, her family that she had loved deeply and lived with for 6 years fell upon personal issues and were unable to keep her. Needless to say this would have been a confusing and heartbreaking time for Molly.

At around the same time, my best friend Karen was undergoing her own heart break and struggling through the devastation of becoming a single mother of 3 beautiful children. Logic would have suggested that with her own pressures - taking in another dog (she already had 2) that needed intense medical and emotional support would not be the smartest of ideas! Although it seems that they were for each other - just what the Dr ordered!

Molly had to undergo another surgery on the 2nd Feb 2019 to remove more tumors from her body and the oncologist advised that she would need chemo and further surgery as the tumors would continue to return. Due to financial constraints Karen could not continue with such an aggressive and expensive treatment and also questioned whether it would be too traumatic to continue to put Molly through such invasive procedures.

Instead Karen adopted a palliative approach so that Molly can live her best life in as much comfort as possible. This approach includes regular vet visits, anti inflammatory medication, CBD oil and special hypersensitive kibble.

Molly is full of spirit and has so much life although her little body struggles. She absolutely loves to prance down the beach stopping and talking to as many humans she can find, soaking up as much love and affection as possible. She adores playing with the kids and other dog siblings and Karen's youngest daughter - Aurora is her constant companion and at times - her biggest irritant :)

Sadly, Molly's tumors are returning all over her body and being a single mother of 3, Karen is struggling to keep up with all of the requirements to keep Molly comfortable. Without the CBD oil and anti inflammatory meds - Molly is regularly suffering with bladder infections and incredibly sore and swollen feet to the point where she can't walk out the doggy door.

I am reaching out on behalf of my best friend because I know how she is struggling and I see how Molly came into her life at a time where they both needed each other the most. They have both had their hearts broken and their lives turned upside down but have found so much joy in each others company and now they need some support for the next part of their journey.

The amount I am looking to raise covers 12 months worth of medications (anti inflam and CBD oil), 4 vet visits with blood and urine test and her special dietary requirements.

With lots of love and gratitude for your support

Jade
