Miracles for the Mackay Family

The Mackay family needs you to help become a Mackay Miracle Angel. Homeless, jobless and not entitled to enough assistance to put enough food on everyones plate due to being Kiwi in Australia, this family is living a horror that should only be a nightmare.

Mum Mackay is a special friend of mine is truly inspirational and says it best in her own words:

"Just over 8 months ago, I was taking my dog for her morning walk when I got a message from Dad Mackay saying that the boss came into the cowshed and gave him two weeks notice! We spent the next two weeks adjusting to this news, packing up (the house was part if the job package), looking for work, while still working crazy long hours.

As the two weeks got closer it became clear that we could not get another job with a house, there were no rentals in the area either. We scrambled round and bought a very cheap caravan that some of us could sleep in. The rest slept in either the car, the van or a tent. Oh did I say it was the beginning of winter?

For the last 8 months we've looked for work, sent out several resumès a week, we've sold stuff so we can buy food and pay bills, we've scrounged up enough to keep us afloat with the help of generous donations.

About four months ago most donations stopped. I guess people forgot about us, or thought surely they must have found a job/house by now. We still have no house, no job and no income. We are running out if things to sell so we can still eat and pay our mounting bills.

Depression is hard to shake, tears are never far away. I try and be strong for the family, but deep down inside I am not ok. My older kids have looked for work, but jobs are few and far between in this area....I hate asking for money"

But in order for her family to survive she has no choice but to do the one thing she hates doing. They are not a small family and there are a lot of mouths to feed. It always seem to be the same people that help them, those that don't have much more to give. The Mackay Family needs help or soon there will be no money meaning that there will be no food.
