Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease with no known early diagnostic test. RoCan is aimed at raising funds to support research into developing an early detection test for Ovarian cancer. In addition funds are also being put towards a Wellness Centre in Werribee where families from the country will be able to stay overnight whilst their loved ones are undergoing treatment. Land has been purchased in Werribee and building works should be starting in the near future. 100% of what you donate will go to the cause. The charity runs with very little overhead. All people involved are volunteers.
As you know I'm a keen recreational cyclist and I've been doing a bit of training recently to be part of this fund raising ride in early March 2021. Starting from Point Cook we will be cycling via Ballarat, Castlemaine, Nagambie and Macedon before returning to Point Cook - 1000 km in 7 days.
This is something I want to do for "my girls" (and yours, too!) As I "huff and puff" up the hills it gives me time to reflect on those who, in life, don't get to get over and see the other side. Little by little we can hopefully improve the survival rate for women suffering from this disease.
Please support me and this great cause by donating. Every donation will be greatly appreciated. You can sponsor me and leave a message by selecting the donate button above.
All the best Alan. Hope the ride is going well. Cheers...
