Hi everyone. I will be doing a 14 day trek the end of this year in Nepal to Everest Base Camp. This is obviously a bucket list type of adventure for many people, but this particular trek is so much more. I will be traveling with a group of women, all to raise awareness and money for the women of Nepal, and to help give them a second chance at a better life through a training and employment facility. Please consider donating any amount you can, as every dollar helps tremendously. Here is more information about where the money is going, and also much more information about everything the organization does on TakeonNepal.com.
“The money raised from this charity trek will be used to set up a women’s training and employment facility in Kathmandu, it will be a space for the most vulnerable women (women with a disability, single Mum’s and women who are survivors of human trafficking). Many of the women from remote villages are unable to return to their village due to stigma, which leads them to isolation and poverty. We are going to provide the women then with skills, training in sewing, dressmaking and felting, with a view to selling their products in both Nepal and Australia.”
Friends of Himalayan Children is a humanitarian organisation working in rural Nepalese communities and in Kathmandu. Our aim is to improve the lives of vulnerable women and children in Nepal through better access to education, and through educational programs and community development projects.
