I've been a director of Kids Under Cover for over 7 years and I've seen first hand the massive impact that Kids Under Cover has on young people and their families. We build studios in back yards for families in desperate need. This keeps kids off the streets, in school and gives them hope for a bright future within the family environment. Overcrowding and lack of space is one of the greatest causes of homelessness and we prevent homelessness.
We also provide scholarships to young people to help them pay for education essentials.
In November, individuals and teams, whom all are supporters of Kids Under Cover, will join CEO Jo Swift for part or all of a four-day trek. Starting from Friday 22nd November in Rosebud and walking to Kids Under Cover’s head office in Richmond.
Walk for Cover is an opportunity to celebrate how much has been accomplished in the last 30 years, as well as a chance to raise awareness for what must be done to reach our vision for a community where no young person experiences homelessness.
The event goal is to raise $120k and I'm aiming to raise $5,000. Enough to build two one-bedroom studios to take two young people off the waiting list.
