Namaste friends,
Over the last 4 years since the great Nepal earthquake I have been working to develop infrastructure in the Lower Manaslu region which was devastated in the quake. It has been great to see western treks now going through the region and the villages recover, thanks to the tireless efforts of locals and my many friends who have come over or donated. The next phase of the development is to commence the construction of a lodge and English school in the village of Dharepani. This building will allow westerners to stay in the village at the start or end of treks or retreat for a while and help to teach English to teachers and local students. It will also act as an emergency shelter for those needing refuge. The building is being constructed of earthbags by volunteers under the supervision of Good Earth Nepal, a company specialising in the robust and sustainable building type. I will be heading to Nepal again in September and then again in December January to work on the building with volunteers and friends. I would love your help in this labour of love.
Wonderful cause and I hope to see the evidence on your good works..... one day
