As most of you know I am volunteering for 6 weeks in the maternity department at St Elizabeth Hospital in Arusha, Tanzania.
This hospital provides free healthcare to its patients but is extremely under resourced. The staff do the best they can to provide care and safely deliver babies but they are constantly running out of basic supplies such as gloves and syringes. There is 1 thermometer and 1 blood pressure machine for the entire department. The staff are extremely resourceful and never complain.
The matron has asked if I could fundraise to assist in replacing the 3 beds on the labour ward. They are rusted and the mattresses are worn out. I would be so grateful if you could donate a few dollars or share this page to spread the word!
My friend and I worked at st Elizabeth's as nurses for a short time in november 19. We were able to go with sr rose and buy equipment for the hospital which was great..I often wonder how they are coping during the pandemic and came across your fundraising page which I hope is still open.
