St Andrew’s Anglican Church is now the oldest church in Walcha. Originally consecrated in 1866 as St Paul’s. The Church is National Trust of Australia NSW Classified.
Construction began in 1862 and was completed in 1865. It was carried out by Alexander Mitchell, storekeeper and miller in the town and a stonemason named Love. Nearly three thousand pounds were raised, with the Church being finally paid for and consecrated in 1866. It is a building of considerable historic interest but is now in a state of disrepair, with structural cracks threatening the integrity of the building and it is no longer used at all.

Neither the Parish of St. Andrew’s Walcha or the community can raise this alone. It has been a very difficult twelve months for our region with our community severely impacted by the state-wide drought.
