Solaris Cancer Care brings together the best in modern medicine with evidence-based support services (such as therapies, education, wellness activities, support groups and counselling) to help cancer patients cope with the emotional and physical side-effects of cancer diagnosis, treatment, recovery and palliative care.
In 2018, we provided more than 25,000 treatments, valued at over $1.74 million, to cancer patients, their families and their carers.
We currently receive no ongoing government funding, relying on the generosity of donations from the Western Australian community, coupled with in-kind support from our 350 volunteers.
Last year was a huge success, due to the selflessness of the WA community, Solaris Cancer Care was able to survive another year and provide support and treatment to thousands in need. However we are still not out of the woods and still need your support and donations to be able to continue our services.
Solaris Cancer Care was the first of its kind in Australia and is the only Western Australian based organisation providing these vital services. Without funding, we will no longer be able to treat and assist the thousands of individuals affected by cancer every day from our five centres - Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, St John of God Subiaco, Cottesloe, Bunbury and Albany Health Centre.
We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another and in WA it is a big part of thousands of people’s journey which is why we need to rally together to support those that need it the most.
