In memory of Phillip Riddler who passed away after a 14 year battle with Crohn's. Our team of 4 will be completing the Rottnest Channel Swim, a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island off the West Australian coast. Yaz Riddler, Kristy Leggat, Daniel Holt and Julia Donohoe will be raising money for Crohn's and Colitis Australia. Phillip had a severe case of Crohn's and underwent countless surgeries, suffered with chronic pain issues relating to his Crohn's and took his own life late last year after losing hope. Kristy's brother lives with Crohn's and as a team we are hoping to raise $5000 towards this organisation that helps raise awareness, funds research and supports Australian's living with bowel disease.
For more than three decades, Crohn’s & Colitis Australia has been empowering the more than 100,000 Australian men, women and children living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis – collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) – to live fearlessly.
