The Joey Scout Promise Challenge badge is the highest award a Joey Scout can achieve. It is not expected that all Joey Scouts will attempt and complete this Challenge, but all are welcome to 'give it a go'. To earn the Joey Scout Promise badge, Blake must complete three components: 1. Learn about Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting 2. Write a prayer 3. Help another person in your community/area Blake has nearly completed the first two components and for the third component he has chosen to raise money for the Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade by hiking along the Spinebill Stroll bush trail in Bungendore Park, Bedfordale. The hike will take place on Saturday 3 November 2018 from 8am and anyone is welcome to join in! The trail is 2.5km and we expect that the hike will take approximately 2 hours to complete. After the hike, Blake will present the donation to the Bedfordale Bush Fire Brigade at their Open Day held at 2 Waterwheel Rd, Bedfordale between 10am and 2pm. Blake hopes to raise at least $100 to help the Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade protect our local community from bushfires through fire prevention and risk management, fire suppression and fire safety education.
