Help build a toilet for school kids in Indonesia

The current situation.... The school has just one toilet that is being shared by 270 primary school kids and their teachers in the tropical climate of Bandung, on the island of Java in Indonesia...

The result? Children are not going to school, there are health and hygiene issues for those that do; some are even not drinking to avoid needing to go to the toilet at all during the day.

This project is not a 'dream'. It has already well underway and just needs some modest additional funds to finish it. The local education department in Bandung is on board and the work is being led on the ground by the fantastic NGO PESAT.

The local connection here is with Negotiation Education Australia (NEA) whose directors have supported this NGO for two decades. Any funds that you donate will be received by NEA and forwarded on in full to PESAT. The directors at NEA (Lisa and John) have a direct and personal connection with the founder of PESAT, Helen Lok, who has lived in Bandung for almost 50 years.

The team at PESAT have already installed the septic tank, the flooring and the basic plumbing.

Your small contribution will help us finish the walls, the roofing plus install the toilets and a rainwater collection tank.

Once completed, PESAT will also assist with hygiene education at the school and the teachers are really committed to this as a great idea.
