Our very dear friends have recently received crushing news that no parent should ever have to hear. Their lovely daughter Tabina Assaad, a 20 year old Sydney nursing student, has been diagnosed with brain stem glioma DIPG, an aggressive cancerous brain tumour. She will require brain biopsy, chemotherapy & many other treatment So we’re hoping to get behind beautiful Tabina and her family and raise as much money as possible, to make this one chance at recovery possible.

Update on Tabina’s Cause. Tabina and family have asked me to please thank everyone for their amazing generosity. They are moved and overwhelmed by the response. The family met with the surgeon Dr Teo again today and the outcome was devastating to hear. The surgery will not go ahead with Dr Teo. The surgery is extremely high risk due to the location & rare type of tumour. Another surgeon would like to perform a biopsy before making any further decisions on treatment and there’s also the option of travelling overseas for alternate treatment. Tabina has been given no more then a year survival rate, so the parents need to act fast. Because of the latest news, the family isn’t sure how much funds will be required moving forward. Could be more or less than what's been raised. However, the family would like the donors to know that should the money raised not all be required, they have offered to refund or donate the balance to another charity.
