Female environmental protectors across Australia are committing to dye their hair green for World Ranger Day in a ‘Girls Go Green’ campaign to raise awareness of the plight of Rangers in other parts of the world, and to raise funds to support Rangers in less fortunate circumstances to attend the World Ranger Congress in Sept 2019 and build life changing networks and skills. We currently lose 2-3 Rangers every week as a direct result of performing their conservation duties. There’s going to be a lot of green hair so plenty of opportunities to strike up conversation and promote the cause. Every three years the International Ranger Federation hosts a World Ranger Congress in a different part of the world to bring Rangers together to share knowledge, equipment and resources. The opportunity to attend this event is limited for some Rangers who are less financially viable or supported, therefore the funds raised through this campaign will go towards sending delegates from those Ranger Associations to the next World Ranger Congress in November 2019. We hope to support at least 5 Ranger delegates to attend from the islands within the Oceania Region, therefore a target of $25K has been established. The growing list of Girls Going Green include: 1. Jasmine Swales, SA 2. Amanda Dudgeon, SA 3. Jolene McLellan, Qld 4. Kelly Knights, NT 5. Tegan Burton, NSW 6. Di Bowman, NT 7. Jen Pitman, SA 8. Holly North, NSW 9. Lyn McRae, NSW 10. Alison McLeod, ACT 11. Michelle Whitmore, NSW 12. Katrina Jimenez, NSW 13. Jae Ellis, SA 14. Dani Shallow, NT 15. Felicity Hatton, NSW 16. Narrabri Team, NSW 17. Tricia Waters, NSW 18. Jacqueline Reid This fundraising initiative is driven by Rangers across Australia and New Zealand by the International Rangers Federation, Oceania (formerly known as Council of Australian Rangers Associations - CARA) bringing Rangers across the country and the world together for better conservation. Your donations are very much appreciated. Please Donate Now. Even more committed to the cause? Congratulations to Tegan Felicity for joining the Green Team and going green for Rangers this World Environment Day. She is amongst the first to go green in the lead up to World Ranger Day on the 31st July, where over 20 other Rangers will join her and the other ‘greenies’ with their green hair. The early greeness has given us the spark we needed to up the awareness campaign and seek donations to reach our target of $25k to get less fortunate Rangers from across the islands of Oceania to the next World Ranger Congress in November 2019. It’s an invaluable opportunity for the individual applicants and is essential in building global conservation networks. Get behind the cause and help us in the fun campaign to see Australia’s lady Rangers Go Green!

Such a great cause. So few women in this industry as a comparison to men. 2 deaths every week is just not good enough.
