In November, a team of nursing students will undertake a Community Health placement in Vietnam as part of our Bachelor of Nursing. We will travel to the remote area of Mai Chau Valley where will spend two days in the hospital in the city of Mai Chau before we trek to villages in the valley. The Mai Chau Valley is in the Western part of Vietnam and is home to many of Vietnam’s ethnic hill tribe minorities and is one of the poorest regions in Vietnam. Health care is basic and there is a lack of resources and trained health professionals. While visiting the villages we will be involved setting up mobile health clinics and volunteering in these clinics alongside health care workers and interpreters to provide treatment and health education to local villagers. Participants undertaking the placement are encouraged to fundraise and any money raised will go directly towards the much needed medical supplies and community projects, such as improved sanitation. I hope you can help us on our project, any donations are greatly appreciated.
So proud of you Ruth! Such an amazing experience. Love you lots xxx
