Ok, typical me to leave things to the last minute!!
This Friday 4 May and Saturday 5 May 2018, I will be joining 50+ other women walking from Sorrento to Melbourne city, yes, that's 100km in two days. Why, you may ask, well, it is to raise awareness (and money if you care to donate) for Chloe Saxby and Vanishing White Matter Disease.
I learnt about 7 year old Chloe and her families battle with VWM from a fabulous friend. In 2012, at the age of 3, Chloe was diagnosed with VWM, an extremely rare, genetic, degenerative, terminal brain disease that affects mostly children. There are only 7 known cases in Australia and around 172 living worldwide. There is currently no treatment or cure available.
By participating in this walk, we can raise both awareness and money to research to help find a cure for VWM.
Now i need to disclose the following, I am nursing injuries so although I hope to go the full distance, it may not happen, but there will be many other brave and gutsy women who definitely will so would welcome any donations to the cause.
