Hi, I’m Nathan Harper and I’m running a half-marathon to raise money to be part of a volunteer mission team to Thailand. I’ve never run that far in my life, so I thought I’d give it a go and give you a reason to sponsor me. But it’s not really about the run. I have the opportunity through my school to be part of a team visiting the Chiang Mai region of Thailand. We’ll be: • working with children at a HIV/AIDS orphanage • working with, and for, patients at McKean Rehabilitation Centre, a former leprosy hospital • interacting with children from “at risk” situations (eg: slave labour) • providing opportunities for outings and programs for “at risk” young people • learning about and supporting the Christians Concerned for Burma organisation My school describes it like this…“The tour provides students with a third world experience that enables them to work with, and for, people in underprivileged societies. It also gives students a better perspective on life in Australia and the many blessings they get to enjoy.” I’d appreciate any contribution you’re willing to make. The tour is in June, and my run is planned for March 24th!
