Last year my Dad came up with a crazy idea to ride his bike from Melbourne to Wollongong to raise funds and awareness for Chloe Saxby and others who suffered from Vanishing White Matter Disease. At the time, Chloe Saxby was just a name to me, and Vanishing White Matter Disease was something that, like most people, I’d never even heard of.
I took over the social media for the Ride for Chloe and started to get involved with what the boys were doing. And then I met Chloe.... and suddenly she was no longer just a name to me. She was a beautiful little girl who I knew and who was suffering. And Chloe, Nyree, Grant, Mads and the rest of the Saxby family became a significant part of my life.
I am very grateful every day that I have not only met this incredibly strong and brave family who have welcomed my family into their lives, but that I have been given the opportunity to help fight this fight.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by such supportive and inspirational women and so very blessed to have friends who immediately put their hand up to join me on this crazy adventure. This is going to be a tough challenge both physically and mentally, but it is nothing compared to what the Saxbys face every single day of their lives.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at what we’re doing and anything you can do to help us is so greatly appreciated.
Bring on May 4th!
Great stuff!
