Live like you are dying

20 years ago at the age of 36 my father was given just 2 months to live. He had an aggressive brain tumour and non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The news was devastating. A young man, a father, brother, husband and friend it was unimaginable and so the fight began. With my mother by his side the treatment began growling rounds of chemotherapy followed by radiation treatment left a fit strong young man right at deaths door. A shadow of his former self absolutely no fight left we were called to the hospital to say goodbye. My mother never gave up hope her support and strength has never wavered, Dad slowly began to gain back his strength but things will never be the same.
In the years that followed everyday became a gift,
Weddings, grand babies and priceless time spent
with family and friends making memories really is what life is about. Live like you are dying. We are now faced with the reality that all the years we have been blessed with are rapidly slipping away.
Dads health is deteriorating before our eyes he is very aware that his days are number and he has a list. Things to do before you die.
To be able to spend what time he has left with the people he loves and hopefully with my mum by his side without the worries of work and money just for a little while. Any donations big or small will have a huge impact on how the time is spent
