Charlie's Run 4 Kids (CR4K) is a local running group that raises money for a family. Our number one supporter Charlie Carr lost her battle with Neuroblastoma in April 2015. We will continue to run for Charlie and this year we will also be running for Logan Taylor.
About Logan:
Logan was diagnosed last December. He became violently ill with head aches and vomiting. A CAT scan revealed a tumour the size of a manderin. The tumour has been removed but unfortunately is also down his spine. Due to Logan's age they are trying to delay radiation treatment for his spine. On top of this Logan contracted meningitis. He is now recovering but is also going thru chemotherapy treatment. He just completed his sixth round of five days of chemo.
Logan, his Mum Sarah, Dad Rob and sister Millie are from Delungra (west of Inverell). They are fat lamb farmers. Whilst they have been staying at Ronald McDonald House, Robs friends (champions) have been helping with the families farm. As you can imagine to run a farm it is twenty-four seven, seven days a week job. Their trip home is over six hours. They are hoping to get released for the weekend. Logan loves to ride their tractor!
We started our fundraising for Logan in July this year, Logan was getting ready to meet the runners for the first time on Sunday the the 24th of September unfortunately he was unable to come as he became sick with headaches. On Monday the 25th of September Logan lost his battle to Medulloblastoma.
This is where we come in, let's get behind the Taylor's and show them what our CR4K community is about, helping out when times are tough.
Our 20 CR4K runners are men and women who are not professional runners, we will be running 150km over 5 days from Seal Rocks to Lydon Oval Dudley for the Taylor Family. We will have finish line festivities on the last day of our run, the 5th of Nov at Lydon Oval Dudley. There will be food, drinks, bands, kids rides, raffle and auction.
Charlie's Run 4 Kids thanks you for your support. With hope and love.
