Thank you to our staff and their families who will be walking in the Mother's Day Classic on 14th May, 2017. The Mother’s Day Classic is the largest community fundraising event for breast cancer research in Australia. It involves thousands of women, men, girls and boys of all ages and takes place around the country on Mother’s Day each year. .Funds raised are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that invests in word-class research into better prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
Sadly, at Airlie Women's Clinic we are diagnosing breast cancer at an alarming rate. It is estimated that the risk of a female being diagnosed with breast cancer is 1 in 8, with over 17,000 new cases in Australia each year. To support us on our walk you can donate to breast cancer research on our fundraising page. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Airlie Women’s Clinic was established over 25 years ago by a group of female doctors with a passion for “providing the highest quality in medical care, with an intense focus on patient care”. The clinic is staffed by female general practitioners who have a particular interest in preventative care, women and family health issues and counselling. Notwithstanding this, the practice has an ever growing patient base of men and children who attend for all matters of general practice.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is the only national body that funds life-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.
Research is the only way to prevent deaths and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated.
