My beautiful mother, Julia Wilson was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer on the 27th March, 2017, just one day after her 43rd birthday. She is unable to create a stable income as cancer has physically taken over her body. I (Briar Wilson) have decided to create a fund raiser to hopefully release the burden of medical and everyday expenses for my mum. It is hard enough trying to deal with this very recent news without the demand of expenses.
Here is her story:
My mum was taken to hospital with what we thought was pneumonia. She was fast tracked into surgery to drain the five litres of fluid from her lung. The doctors were stunned to see her lung had collapsed to the size of a peanut and were eager to relieve her of the pain that it was causing her. The doctors were suspicious of Julia's medical stance as the pneumonia looked like "classic cancer". After 6 days in hospital, the fluid results came back from John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and a specific ovarian cancer cell was present in the fluid from her lung. The news was broken to my mum, yet she held strong and kept an extremely positive mind. She started chemotherapy yesterday on the 4th of April, 2017. After 9 weeks of chemotherapy, she will be going into surgery at John Hunter hospital. This is followed by another 9 weeks of chemotherapy. It has been her dream to go to Europe so as well as medical expenses and everyday expenses, I am here trying to raise money to get her to Europe in 6 - 12 months. Every single cent will count and will be extremely appreciated. If you aren't in the position to donate please share this page so we can make my Mum's life as enjoyable as possible. Thank you!
