#homelesslivesmatter
Tonight over 105,000 Australians will be homeless.
And tomorrow night.
And the next night.
This year 1 in 40 children under five will need to use a homeless service.
This is almost ONE child per classroom.
Almost 20,000 Queenslanders are homeless, and 9,700 are in Brisbane.
Project ONE is about helping these people.
The Harcourts Foundation is asking you to consider giving ONE night to make a difference to homelessness in Queensland.
Support the Harcourts Foundation Project ONE by donating what you spend on your home for ONE night.
For example, I spend $59.29 per night for my home.
That is, I spend $415 per week, or $415/ 7 = $59.29 per night. I will donate this to Project ONE.
The average Australian mortgage of $350-$400,000 has weekly repayments of approximately $450.
$450 / 7 = $64.28 per night
The average Australian weekly rent is $485 per week.
$485 / 7 = $69.28 per night
Alternatively, $60 helps provide food hampers for families in need, $100 helps provide crisis accommodation for a homeless person for one day.
Any donation will help.
All funds raised by Project ONE will be donated to St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland. To read more about what they do to prevent and combat homelessness visit www.vinnies.org.au/page/Our_Impact/homelessness-in-Australia/ .
