E-Science is a local youth Organisation in Nkhotakota Malawi. It was developed in 2012 by two youths of Malawi wanting to make a change. E-science aims to empower and improve the life of young people, women and people with disability. We focus on changing the chronic cycle of poverty within Nkhotakota Malawi.
Previously E-Science has been able to turn the lives of 43 around by sending them back to school, through their program 'back to school'. E-Science are supporting these learners by providing payments of school fees and equipment needed to learn. Though there are still 156 eager learners awaiting for funding which E-Science does not yet have. In the near future the members of E-Science plan to increase the number of learners they are able to support by helping out members of the community that are in need and cannot afford to pay school fees or purchase required equipment such as pens or books.
Individual Members of E-Science are taking time out of their day to provide information and teach young women/young mothers in a women's group E-Science created. They are taught about many things, some including nutrition, cleanliness and promoting hygiene amongst their family/friends and within their home. The ladies that attend also learn how to create their own business to generate an income to keep their many children in school. As well as maintaining their motherhood by regularly getting checks by professionals when pregnant; reducing the death toll of mothers and the child dying due to health issues.
E-Science are also trying to make change within the community of people who are effected by disability. They assist by using their contacts and resources to provide the correct materials and information to take this particular group further, either within their studies or in the work force. Currently E-Science have 8 registered people with a disability, though can only afford to help 3 so far.
At the end of 2017 - start of 2018 I hope to return to Malawi and E-Science and see the difference myself and continue to create a better life for those who need it.
I have created this fundraising page as I am trying to help those involved go further with their NGO and make a real difference in the third world country that they live in.
$1US is equivalent to about 700 Malawian Kwacha; which could send 1 primary school student to school for the whole school year
