Opportunity of a Lifetime

My name is Karen Love, I'm a dedicated mother and I urgently need your help to raise funds for my teenage son Kyle's tuition fees and related educational expenses to attend his schooling at the Green School Bali.

My son Kyle Love is the beneficiary who is a promising young green innovator who wants to change our world. I wish for my son to continue learning and growing through the amazingly inspiring teaching methodologies and curriculum at the best green school in the world.

Raised solely by his myself (no father's support), from a young age Kyle has learnt a great deal about life, hardship, human rights, our need for safety & security; and of family & community values. I have given Kyle all the knowledge & experiences I can in life on my own; but for him to continue to flourish he needs to be positioned at a school that can add upon that knowledge and continue to inspire him to go further in life. Education has always been important to us and we believe it empowers people to progress and create the beneficial change our world so badly needs.

In the last year our lives have been slightly set back as we selfishly moved interstate to help my ill and dying parents. In this time Kyle has been extremely tolerant and patient with attending a local country school, however this has not been the right environment for him to flourish. He has been through an immense amount of challenges all his life and he deserves the financial support to help him bring out his best to share his ideas with the world. He works hard with great passion towards the causes he believes in mostly because of the challenging experiences he was exposed to in his earlier life.

Green School campus, an institution with a curriculum emphasizing Green Education and ecology, sits in the lush Indonesian jungle on Bali. Sustainable agriculture and traditional irrigation practices provide a link between the past and the future. As part of the curriculum, students take an active role in developing and maintaining the production of the land. The curriculum teaches carbon footprint analysis, water studies, organic farming and gardening, with each student allocated a vegetable patch; each class has its own flower/ vegetable garden: which students design, prepare, tend, harvest, cook, and eat. These are layered in with usual academic subjects (Math, English, Science) along with Creative Arts and Sustainability studies. As John Hardy (the Founder) explained, “We are building the Green School to create a new paradigm for learning. We want children to cultivate physical sensibilities that will enable them to adapt and be capable in the world. We want children to develop spiritual awareness and emotional intuition, and to encourage them to be in awe of life’s possibilities.”

Being able to attend the Green School Bali for his senior years of education will enable Kyle to continue to gain the right skills, expand his capabilities, stay inspired and practice amazingly new & innovative environmental & social sustainability ethical practices and concepts from the Green School to continue to forge his way through life and help create the much needed changes our world needs.
