Miss Wagga Wagga Sarah Navin is taking part in Wagga Takes Two. She is partnered with local singer songwriter Joel Harrison and they will be fundraising for the Wagga Womens Health Centre.
Sarah will be coached by Joel to perform a duet at three performances being held on April 20, 21 and 22 (the details are a secret until the show!)
The Wagga Women’s Health Centre is a non-government crisis-support organisation, supporting women with issues including sexual assault, domestic violence, poverty, homelessness, relationship difficulties, grief, anxiety, depression and legal or financial difficulties.
The Centre provides an alternative health care service run by women, for women, ensuring accessibility, without financial, cultural or other barriers, to the women of Wagga Wagga and surrounding districts. All services provided by the Centre and operations of Centre staff are within a trauma informed framework.
A message from Sarah:
"I chose to sing for the Wagga Women's Health Centre because through reporting on police work in my job as a journalist with Prime7 News, I've seen just how big of a problem domestic violence is in this city. It's shocking and heartbreaking. The Centre does an incredible job in trauma counselling and crisis support, and is a vital part of our community. On top of that, it's conducting research on how we can put a stop to domestic violence and change local attitudes towards abuse."
Thank you for your generous support!
The opening hours of the Wagga Women’s Health Centre are 9.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday.
