Help Widi and her family fix their home...

Calling all angels!!

Hello Friends of the Heart,

Many of you have met or communicated with Widi Susanti; the Balinese angel who entered our lives in 2009 after studying an English and Computer course at Champuhan College (It feels important to highlight here that this course was sponsored by Karuna Bali as Widi's family did not have the financial means to pay for her education).

She has been working with us at "Way of Mastery" since that time and is definitely an integral part of our family! We are currently supporting her to continue her studies and develop skills as a teacher/facilitator.

Now, I would firstly comment that all of us desire to serve in this world in some way and Widi is truly an inspiration who we could all learn from! Not only does she work and study - but also she has joined with an English Club at the new college. Which means that herself, and a group of other students, travel to rural villages (around 2 hours each way) in order to provide local children, living in poorer communities, with an extra ordinary experience - learning English and more importantly, opening hearts and minds to a positive experience of learning!

Widi is the only child of Wayan Sujana and Ni Made Marini, caring parents who have supported her in the choice to follow a career, rather than entering marriage (which would have been the custom for her to do). You see, here in Bali, it is the male children who would normally provide financial support to the family.

They live together in a very simply home in Tabanan, which has been passed down through the generations. A few of us have visited the small compound for different ceremonies and have always been welcomed with open arms by this beautiful family.

However, just two nights ago (while they were out at a ceremony), a storm ravaged the village (high winds and heavy rain) breaking a section of the roof and allowing water to flood throughout the house.

Widi took the day off yesterday to help out with the 'clean up' required and the family all 'camped out' in one bed last night. Then this morning someone come around to talk about what needs to be done.

The outcome is: a new roof as the support beams are not able to be reused. As well as other maintenance items in order to fix the water damaged area of the house. The family simply do not have the financial means to complete the repairs required.

Therefore this campaign is my call for your support to help out a sister in need... Can you help?

While she may never be able to 'pay it back', if there is one thing I do know it is that Widi is that she will 'pay it forward' (in duplicate!!) in her volunteer work which touches the lives of so many underprivileged children in Bali!
