Joel suffered a debilitating spinal cord injury in 2014, leaving him a quadriplegic. Joel had just returned home from Operational Service in Afghanistan. Whilst Joel may no longer be fulfilling his duty as a rifleman in the Australian Army, Joel continues to fulfil his duty to life, never giving up and making the most out of his circumstances. The 'Every Step Counts’ campaign is a chance for donors to raise money for Joel, by pledging donations towards either my ability to finish the gruelling 24 hour World’s Toughest Mudder, or how far I can travel over the race. World’s Toughest Mudder puts its competitors through a gruelling 24 hour race designed to find the toughest man, woman and 4 person team on the planet. Competitors have 24 hours in horrific conditions, to log as many kilometres as they can on an amped up obstacle course. Alternatively, you can help push me as far as my legs can travel, by pledging $1 for every kilometre I complete, up to a max of 115 kilometres** This will be my 3rd and last World’s Toughest Mudder. Last year I completed 100KM and finished ranking as the 5th best Australian and 56th in the world.
