HELP KEEP NICOLE AT HOME AND A CHANCE TO WIN SOME GREAT PRIZES TOO!
In 2006, our sister Nicole was diagnosed with a Grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour, a brain cancer for which there is no cure. Over the past 10 years, Nicole has undergone 2 craniotomies, 2 rounds of radiotherapy and multiple forms of chemotherapy, all with her amazing husband Rod and their 2 beautiful daughters, Grace and Milla by her side.
Two years ago, after the second round of radiation, Nicole’s ability to look after herself was severely impacted and for the last 2 years, she has required someone with her 24 hours a day.
Nic’s care requirements have increased and over 50 hours of paid care is needed each week. Of greatest importance to Nicole, Rod and their girls at this stage is for Nicole to stay at home. We want to help Nicole and Rod to cover the cost to keep Nicole at home and want to raise $60,000 or more towards the next 12 months of care. All money raised will be used directly to pay for Nicole's care and comfort.
Any amount, large or small is appreciated. For every $50 donation, we would like to thank you by issuing you with an entry into a draw that will take place on November 5. It is our way of thanking you for supporting Nicole and Rod. $9,000 IN PRIZES, INCLUDING AIRFARES AND ACCOMMODATION IN ITALY. Prizes as follows:
1. A $4,000 Accommodation and Airfare package to Italy
2. A Long weekend at a 3 BR holiday house in Portsea worth over $1,500
3. A $1000 Mecca experience
4. A $600 Tickets and drinks package to a 2017 Richmond home game in the Premiership Club
5. A $500 Stokehouse gift voucher
6. A $300 Moose Toys Gift Voucher
7. A $300 Patricks Vineyard Pinot Noir
8. An indulgence Hamper worth over $400
9. A $300 mixed wine dozen
See attached pdf’s for more details on the prizes. (No immediate family members of Rod and Nicole’s will be issued tickets in the raffle.)
We will be drawing the raffle on Saturday November 5 and will post details of where and when in case you can join us. Alternatively, a video of the draw will be online.
For Nicole to be home and not in a hospital or other facility is essential not just to her, but for all those around her. The energy that she derives from being with family, especially Grace and Milla, is visible and any time that she spends in hospital, no matter how necessary, is really tough and impacts her positive state of mind. Nicole’s toughness has been a constant over the last 10 years, as she has raised her daughters, travelled, studied nursing, started her own business, taught early child care and never let the cancer impact her outlook on life. Nickers has met every challenge head on and continues to do so.
We don’t know what is around the corner and whether Nic will need greater levels of care in the coming months. What we do know is that this money will remove one thing for the family to worry about.
Please share this on Facebook or with anyone you think may want to support this cause and have a chance to win these fabulous prizes.
Thanks to everyone for their support.
