Love for Lani

Lani is 1 year old and lives in Wangary with her parents Cara Garner and Matt Pierce. She was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Megacephaly Capillary Malformation Syndrome or M-CM. Fewer than 200 people worldwide have been diagnosed with M-CM, only 8 of which are in Australia.

The condition comes with a lot of complications. It is an overgrowth condition causing body and head overgrowth and abnormalities of the skin, vascular system, brain and limbs. Each person with M-CM is affected differently therefore Lani is undergoing constant tests, medical treatment and developmental therapy which requires regular trips to Adelaide.

We have started this group to help in raising awareness for Lani's condition and are calling on the community to rally behind Cara and Matt and support them with Lani's development. We are hoping to raise some much needed funds to support the family with ongoing travel costs, medical costs and equipment needed to help Lani reach her full potential.
