How many times have you felt sick and went to the doctors or hospital and had to wait at least 30 min to be seen? Its quite annoying isn't it? Imagine if you had to travel hours, at least 3 hours to see a medical practitioner. That would be devastating wouldn't it?
For those who don't know, I was one of the lucky one's chosen to go to Laos in January for my Community placement. Griffith University students and volunteers will be going to remote villages in northern Seuang River situated in Luang Prabang Povince of Laos to provide primary health care.
My fundraising will contribute to medical supplies, the opportunity for local education including nursing scholarships, the transportation of patients needing urgent care due to burns or fractures, general needs such as hygiene products as well as supporting the local community. Previous groups have been able to have electricity connected to communities and built halls for schooling and meetings.
Your help will assist us to provide essential healthcare, medical supplies and resources to those less-fortunate than ourselves. Your donation will go directly to these communities with a small amount subsiding my journey.I have attached photos of the community and a letter confirming the placement.
Thank you so much in advance I am excited to provide skills, education and my service to these communities with your help.
Happy to help somehow
