Rickshaw Run 2015/16

In December of this year, Vardon Robson, Oscar Fortey and Nic Rodgers will be taking part in the Rickshaw Run across India. This run consists of a starting point and a finishing point, everything else is up to us.

or those of you who don't know what a rickshaw is, think of a mix between a Tuk Tuk and a glorified lawnmower, and we will be driving all 7 horsepowers of it across the whole subcontinent of India. There will be breakdowns, we will get lost and we will most definitely be thrown out of our comfort zone and into the Indian culture. Back up is non-existent, knowledge of roads is also non-existent and cow tipping is also apparently prohibited over there. We will be raising money for 2 fundraising campaigns before we go over.

These are MS Australia and Cool Earth. The money for MS Australia goes towards the awareness of the terrible disease and finding ways to prevent it. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system that can affect the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It does however only affect <0.1% of the Australian population. It is still unknown of the cause of MS. The money for Cool Earth goes towards the saving of rainforests in Brazil and Ecuador. As we all know, trees are fairly important, and at the rate we're going, they aren't going to be there for as long as we'd like to hope.

To date, Cool Earth has saved approximately 500,000 acres of rain forest in South America. This is almost the size of Central Coast and Newcastle put together.
