The Flinders Fringe Festival is back for a third year, 21-23 February, in the picturesque coastal village of Flinders. This vibrant event has become a highlight of the Mornington Peninsula’s arts calendar, celebrating local talent and community. To support the development of new theatrical work and to keep the tickets affordable the festival committee has a fund-raising target of $50,000. Donations big and small are gratefully received and are tax- deductible. Environmental themes take centre stage this year, led by LIMB: Ode to the Trees. This multidisciplinary theatrical performance blends dance, text, live music, puppetry, and projection. Created by Sally Grage-Moore, creative director and choreographer; Poul Grage, musical director and composer; Carole Patullo, writer and actor and Ian Cuming, master puppet artist (creator of the giant Weedy Sea Dragons and the Mirror Dance spectacular). LIMB: Ode to the Trees is more than a performance; it’s a celebration of life’s interconnectedness and a call to appreciate and protect the environment. Steered by Artistic Director Melissa Jackson and Festival Convenor/Executive Producer Claire Thorn, with support from dedicated local volunteers, the program features theatre, cabaret, jazz, art, comedy, poetry, art exhibitions and more. Visit flindersfringe.com.au for details. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
