10th FEB 2025 - Righto! Cans for Cancer time!
At every container deposit location, you can nominate and help Love Your Sister, or you can bung your recycling funds on here!
I've got two towns and multiple sporting clubs in my area in on this. And of course I'm recycling my own cans and bottles. If you live locally you can leave your recycling in the laneway at the Tallarook General Store and I'll do the rest!
It's a great way to help the environment and kids with cancer without digging into your own pocket.
9th FEB 2025 - What a day!
My favourite thing to do, in my favourite place, with my favourite people! So many kids came to my Birthday Bash Bike Ride - that was the most special part for me, especially given that we're raising money for childhood cancers! And we raised just over $30K! Thanks to everyone, of course, but mostly to Mel and Rob, from Wheelhouse Bikes in Kilmore, who pulled this whole thing together, and then put a tab on the bar in Yea!
The highlight? Little Dylan ignored his elders and rode all the way to Yea. He went all the way. I have such a huge respect for his determination.
9th JAN 2025 - I know what I want for my birthday!
On my birthday I want to do my favourite thing. So I'm riding my bicycle along my local rail trail. 8:30am, February 8, starting at the Tallarook pool. Feel free to pedal along with me!
8th JAN 2025 - We raised $38,855!!! Collectively, we are strongerongerer! Mind blown :-D
4th JAN 2025 - My sister Connie's Birthday!!!
Backstory....
Oops. I dug a hole. A big hole. A hole worth $186,484.
I went to a fancy castle in Sydney, home to some swisho governor, and was appointed a benefactor of CCIA - the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia. Australia is the first country in the world to make Precision Medicine available to all children with cancer. A huge milestone. But what about the next 2,000 kidlets? They matter too…so I doubled our existing commitment.
I can’t just pull masses of money out of thin air. We give the CCIA what children raise through our Crazy Sock Days and Five Cent Fridays and last year, we gave the CCIA $186,484. That’s what I promised to double, and I can’t break a promise to sick kids, so I’m hoping you’ll help me with this hole I dug?
My sister Connie was a kid with cancer. She had a Ewings Sarcoma at 11 years young. So I feel it’s only appropriate to launch this ‘Oops, I Dug A hole’ campaign on her birthday, today. I have shown through my long-distance unicycle ride (15,478kms over 364 days) that I don’t give up. I have shown to be a competent fundraiser and am delighted to have helped raise nearly $20M so far. My point? I will not stop until I dig myself out of this hole. Help me?
Glad to help out! xo
