I’m raising funds to support my candidature for local government representing the beautiful Sherbourne Ward within the City of Banyule. This area covers part of Briar Hill, and all of Lower Plenty & Montmorency.
For many years, I’ve been a passionate and successful community advocate on planning, sustainability and community wellbeing issues. I want to be in Council to effectively and genuinely represent the people of Sherbourne.
I am proudly independent and I have no ties with or to any political party.
My goal is to work hard and build back trust in our Council by ensuring: - real accountability and transparency in Council decision making - effective and meaningful community consultation - planning decisions that maintain neighbourhood character and liveability - that Council listens to YOU and actively responds.
I am proudly the 2023 Banyule Citizen of the Year, awarded for my integrity and passion, campaigning for better infrastructure and local and state government policy outcomes. I was delighted to share this award with the many wonderful volunteer community and advisory groups that I am an integral committee member of.
I really care about people, a sustainable environment and delivering the Council services that you want as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Accountability. Advocacy. Action. This is how I work and I want to hear about the issues you care about. Contact me: michellegiovas@gmail.com or 0491677365.
